[Lounge Review] Hanaq VIP Lounge Lima

Hanaq VIP lounge Lima in the only Priority Pass lounge in Lima airport, but are there better alternatives?

TRAVELPERULOUNGE REVIEW

Hanaq VIP Lounge is the only Priority Pass lounge in Lima Airport's international terminal. As the only Priority Pass lounge in the airport, the lounge is susceptible to overcrowding during peak periods. During my visit however, I found the lounge to be quiet and comfortable, though there are areas for improvement.

The Lounge Setup

The lounge is spread over two levels, with level one hosting the reception area, as well as many armchairs.

On level two, you will find more of the same armchairs, but also communal countertop seating with charging points.

There is also a bar, where you can get the bartender on duty to make you the cocktails on the menu.

Level two was more crowded during my visit, but that's because the self-serve buffet is on level two. Despite the crowd, it was never too noisy, so if you need to escape from the hustle of the airport, Hanaq VIP Lounge is perfectly suited for that.

Dining

The lounge offers a self-serve buffet, spread over three buffet lines on level two of the lounge. Before you get too excited, the options on each line are largely the same; I guess the three buffet lines are needed just to manage the peak hour crowd. The food is poor in quality and variety, so there's no need to visit all three lines.

Just imagine serving spaghetti bologense in a bowl, and leaving it out under the heat lamps; there's no way it can be good.

The best part about the buffet has to be the orange juice machine. This is my first time encountering a self-serve juicing machine in a lounge, and I love it.

Shower Rooms

The best part about the lounge has to be the shower rooms.

If you wish to take a shower, head to the reception and grab a ticket from the staff.

Head over to level two next, where you will be greeted by another staff, who will take your ticket, usher you to your shower room, and hand you a clean set of towels and amenities.

Conclusion

The poor catering has to be Hanaq VIP Lounge's biggest weakness but it can be easily remedied. If you have time, why not head over to the Priority Pass restaurants in Lima Airport. Grab your drinks and food at the restaurants before heading over to this lounge for a shower.

I'm not too sure how to rate this lounge. It is no SilverKris lounge for sure, but at the same time, Hanaq VIP Lounge is completely serviceable and even offers showers; an amenity that is not common in Priority Pass lounges.

This is my rating:

Food & Drinks - 5/10

Facilities - 8/10

Service & Cleanliness - 7/10

Ambience, Peace & Quiet - 7/10
