[Trip Review] Simply York
Do we need another travel guide about York? Let me share with you what I found to be the best things to do in York!
TRAVELUNITED KINGDOM
York may not be London, or Edinburgh, but York is still very popular among tourists so there's no shortage of guides or blogs out there listing the best of York. I'll just share three things to do in York, a must-visit restaurant, and where to get Yorkshire Pudding :)
Attractions - York City Walls
Since Roman times, York has been defended by walls and to this day, substantial portions of the walls remain. The York City Walls are in my opinion, the best attraction of York. There's nothing like being able to explore York from high walls, taking in the city and landscapes.
At 3.4 kilometres long, the walls are the longest medieval town walls in England, and it will take you around an hour to walk 1 round on the walls without stopping. Do take your time at the walls though; there's plenty to see from the elevated walls.

Attractions - York Minster
York Minster, also known as the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York, is an Anglican cathedral. The York Minster is massive, it is the second-largest Gothic cathedral of Northern Europe.
The Minster's towers, are about 72 metres in height, and visible all over town. The towers give a sense of grandeur and stateliness to the Cathedral. Given how visible the towers are, you can't miss them while you are in York.
While you are at York Minster, do visit Dean's Park too. Dean's Park is right beside York Minster, and offers you great photo opportunities of the Minster while enjoying a walk or a picnic.

Attractions - National Railway Museum
The National Railway Museum tells the history of rail transport in Britain, and its impact around the globe.
Don't be surprised to see trains from other countries here! While it is named as the National Railway Museum, the museum houses rolling stock from all around the world.
I learnt lots from my visit to this museum, and I hope you will find it interesting as well!

Restaurant - Skosh
Skosh is a small plates restaurant, serving contemporary British cuisine with international influences. I had the 'hen's egg', Skosh fried chicken, hand-dived scallop, and the 'lemon top'.
The food was delicious, and while they are not the most affordable, I do think they are value for money.

Restaurant - The York Roast Co.
You can't say you've been to York without trying a Yorkshire pudding. Or can you?
The York Roast Co. serves a Yorkshire Pudding wrap. Just imagine a traditional roast dinner of roast beef or pork, grilled vegetables, and gravy all in a wrap made with a Yorkshire Pudding.
You can have the wrap takeaway or dine in at the restaurant. I like the wrap as it is filling, and relatively affordable.

Conclusion
There's more to York of course. You can't leave York without visiting the Shambles, or the York Museum Gardens etc. There's plenty to see, and explore in York, but I've picked out my top 3 attractions in York. Do visit them and I hope you enjoy them!
If you are in Britain, you can't miss York!
