[Trip Review] Cheltenham Day Trip
Cheltenham is the gateway to the Cotswolds but you should not skip Cheltenham!
LATESTTRAVELUNITED KINGDOM
Cheltenham is a town in Gloucestershire, England. Cheltenham is best known as a gateway to the Cotswolds, a spa town, and also home to the Cheltenham festival; a horse racing event.
If you are not into horse racing, there's still plenty to see in Cheltenham, so don't miss it when you are in the Cotswolds region.
Attractions - Wilson Art Gallery and Museum
The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum showcases local history and works by local artists. It is evident that the gallery has spent lots of time and effort to showcase the best that Cheltenham has to offer. More importantly, they switch things up and run different exhibitions over time so there will always be something new for your next visit.

Attractions - Suffolks Sunday Market
The Suffolks Sunday Market is organised by the Suffolks Trader Association. This year, the sunday market will occur on seven weekends. The emphasis of the market is on supporting local; stalls are curated and the market features a variety of stores, from art & craft to food & beverage.
The atmosphere is great, and this is an attraction that you should not miss.

Attractions - Pittville Park
Pittville Park is a short walk from the city center; you will probably encounter it if you are walking to the Cheltenham race course. Pittville Park is the largest park in Cheltenham, and is great for a picnic.
Pittville Park has everything that you want from a park: large open fields, a lake, a playground for kids, and more.
The park is also home to the Pittville Pump Room, a beautiful attraction in its own right.

Food
Looking for a tasty meal in Cheltenham that won't break the bank? Head over to Village Grill for some peri-peri chicken. I had a half-chicken meal, which comes with a side and a drink for just slightly more than 8 pounds. The food was tasty too; I loved the chicken. If you need more reasons to visit Village Grill, then just know that you are supporting local.

If you are celebrating an occasion, or if you happen to have a much higher budget, then head over to Le Champignon Sauvage for some Michelin-Starred French cuisine.
Conclusion
Cheltenham is a small, compact city, with most of the attractions just a short 10 minutes walk away from each other in the city center, making it perfect for a day trip. If you have more than a day in Cheltenham, you should take a 30 minutes bus ride and head over to Winchcombe. You will find the magnificent, and nicely preserved Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe.
Whatever you do in the Cotswolds, don't miss the attractions in Cheltenham.
